English lovers in many ways to be fluent in English. Specially Diploma in
English Teaching as a Foreign Language/DETFL is uniquely designed for those who
wish to become English Teachers after A/L examination since there is an
increasing demand for English language education in everywhere in the country.
This mainly focuses on the development of English language skills of non-native
English users like Sri Lankans. The
Diploma in Teaching English as a Foreign Language obviously fits the
requirements of a young English learner who wishes to be an English teacher or
an English language facilitator. In understanding the necessity of English
language skill development in emerging market like Sri Lanka following
opportunities have been created for you.

Diploma
in Teaching English as a Foreign Language focusses basically on theoretical
issues of English language and English language teaching. The teaching always
comes up with theories, methodologies and practices as its major sub-divisions.
The diploma always aims students to cover up the first- and second-year subject
scope of Bachelor/Degree of Education in Teaching English as a Foreign Language
since all the students are eligible for exemptions of two years to be graduated
in above degree. Being an English Bachelor, you can enter to the overseas job
market since there is an increasing demand for English teaching in many Middle
East and South Asian countries for higher wages and with better facilities.
Then you have taken the right decision to be an English teacher and it is a
more privileged career in the world. Depending on your current role of
teaching and engagement in teaching English, a decision on volunteer teaching
training can be taken.
It is pleased to inform you that English Spoken Diplomas are
designed for young learners and the professionals. That aims to improve your
English language proficiency the four skills of youths Writing, Listening,
Reading and Writing. Secondly the development of business communication
purposes is set as the scope of Diploma in English for Professionals and it is
understood as a timely requirement.
Finally the I-APT English Faculty facilitates the students with
English who wish to do distant learning
like private and government university students and those who wish to study overseas.
Initially having sufficient
qualifications anyone can follow our Diplomas over six academic months and it
is supposed to fulfill the requirements of the whole diploma programs to reach
the international standard.
The interesting thing is that I-APT Campus has not ignored the
students who have finished O/L examination and they can easily go for a degree
after O/L examination with minimum qualifications. As simply known those
students are advised to follow our Pre-Foundation Course and move to Foundation
Course thereafter. Then they are qualified for the diploma program which steers
them to be Bachelors in sequence they can reach to Masters and PhD holders.
